Position Responsibilities:

Seeking a Design Director to oversee the design and development of marketing materials, including branding, packaging, and merchandising, for a manufacturer whose products are sold online and at retail globally. You will manage an in-house design/creative team.

Position focus:

Brand Strategist – Fluent in the fundamentals of branding identity to provide creative leadership and management of an extensive portfolio of national and private label brands. Establish a style guide and manage brand standards and legal requirements to ensure proper execution of product development and marketing materials. Develop a creative vision for new brands and marketing campaigns.

 

Art Direction – Distill complex messages into understandable consumer-friendly visual communications for various formats, including packaging, e-commerce product display pages, web design, POP merchandising, and D2C and B2B marketing campaigns.

 

Develop the vision, set direction, coordinate, and review the team's work to meet brand and business objectives on budget. Deliver artwork according to technical production specifications, including flexographic printing, traditional print production, and e-commerce publishing.

 

Passion for staying current with the best consumer product marketing practices to bring innovative new ideas to elevate brand and business strategies.

 

Project Management – Experienced in managing a fast-paced creative environment with diverse projects, high-volume workflow, multiple priorities, and tight deadlines. Organized and detail-oriented, able to allocate resources and prioritize to meet project timelines. Self-starter with a positive attitude who is customer service focused, adaptable, and flexible in a creative production environment.

 

Leadership & CommunicationEnthusiastic leader to both coach and manage the team. Ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships to increase speed to market and team productivity. Communicate and interact closely with Product Development, Communication, Design, Sales, and Operations throughout the workflow process to inspire creative collaboration. Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written.

Experience Required:
  •  10+ years of experience with a portfolio demonstrating innovative work in consumer products.
  • Experience managing a graphic design team and directing photography for consumer products.
  • Expert use of InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator, with an understanding of print production essentials, including flexographic processes.
