Position Responsibilities:
The Product Design Manager will create and execute product design processes and successfully introduce the use of product design. You will lead a team consisting of 5-7 Sr. Designers and Designers (manage, mentor, lead, guide and direct); strong leadership skills are a critical & essential in this role. As the Product Design Manager you will lead the turn-key programs from ideation through delivery of final program with accountability for financial results.
- Drive Innovation and Innovative thinking for all areas of responsibility.
- Manage overall strategy for Global Design Resources and collaborate with other Designers to leverage resources whenever possible.
- Manage Design Resources for multiple categories in a cross category fashion whenever additional resources are needed.
- Manage internal and external Design Teams and direct product design projects effectively and efficiently, delivering to deadlines and accomplishing business goals and objectives.
- Communicate and interpret trend and translate it into product design to drive sales and gross margin.
- Partner with Product Managers and Category Management on providing the sales and financial objectives through the design process

Experience Required:
- Minimum 7 years of experience managing design projects, preferably with a major retailer or manufacturer. Management of Design team required. Will manage 3-7 designers.
- Design experience in arts and craft, home décor, trend, seasonal products, fashion/apparel, and possibly graphics and/or patterns
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Adobe Illustrator; Adobe Suite a plus.

The new VP of Design & Development is from Nordstroms...thus they have expanded the role to include more fashion (clothing, accessories, jewelry, etc.).
