Position Responsibilities:

The Brand Manager will work closely with the Director of Marketing to plan and implement SeaPak brand management initiatives.  The position will support brand profitability through the development of brand strategies, annual marketing plans, new product roadmaps, and brand packaging, and through management of advertising and consumer promotion program budgets for assigned line(s) of business.

Brand Management:

  • Responsible for developing and executing brand marketing plans and the associated budgets through:
    • Understanding brand equity and key consumer metrics
    • Managing brand positioning
    • Supporting agency/consultant management
    • Consumer/Customer/Industry understanding, target markets and segments for category
    • Understanding competitive set, completing competitive assessments, conducting market quantification and analysis
    • Leveraging consumer and shopper marketing insights (consumption, promotion, merchandising development) 

Product Management

  • New Product Innovation and Renovation
    • Submits Speed-to-Market paperwork to execute innovation and renovation activity against plan
    • Leads New Product Discovery to work to generate new products and platforms
    • Serves as Marketing representative on assigned projects
  • Build and share product/category knowledge - is an "expert" on category within the division
  • Provide input into the monthly demand plan on existing items and future risks and opportunities
  • Make pricing recommendations on new products and general price increases
  • Recommend SKUS for rationalization and execute agains plan
  • Help problem-solve inventory/spoilage issues

Leadership

  • Vision/Strategy: drive SeaPak category strategic and annual plan development and execution to achieve volume and profit targets (including responding to trends, portfolio, mapping, innovation/renovation activity)
  • Provide cross-functional team leadership/project management
  • Maintain consistent communication with field sales, consumer and shopper insights and other resources to understand emerging market trends and translate into business opportunities

Financial Acumen

  • P&L responsibility for assigned product line(s)
  • Serve on Product Category Team (PCT)
  • Understand product cost structure (builds P&Ls, perform basic proformas)
  • Develop and manage appropriate budgets and contingency plans as required

Experience Required:

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 3 years marketing experience, specifically Brand/Product Management experience required.  Food industry experience and understanding of US retail and Club trade classes both a plus
  • Proven track record of leadership, taking initiative with delivering financial results
  • Solid communication skills to include verbal and written capabilities; strong presentation ability
  • Proven strategic thinking skills and demonstrated analytical ability
  • Proven ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • Experience with market research techniques
  • Experience in managing 3rd party marketing agencies
  • Demonstrated financial skills to include P&L analysis and other analyses
  • Demonstrated success in managing and directing change
  • Strong PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Proficient in use and analysis of Nielsen NITRO and/or IRI InfoScan syndicated data

Education Required:
