Position Responsibilities:

Primary Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead the NPD/ Innovation function within the Marketing department
  • Collaborate with NPD/ Innovation Assistant and Marketing Team to identify consumer white space and ideate new product ideas & modifications for the private label and branded portfolios
  • Create New Item Briefs
  • Communicate with vendors to initiate projects, request samples, and provide design feedback and modification requests
  • Create and manage project timelines to capture key deliverables and deadlines
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Regulatory to map out and improve timelines and optimize product formulas and packaging
  • Assist Sales with NPD related customer requests, coordinating timelines, cost, volume, pricing, and sell sheets
  • Work closely with Art department to issue preliminary product copy, mockup requests, and design direction
  • Manage market research projects to identify and filter potential new products (e.g. category analysis, competitive product review, consumer reviews)
  • Develop marketing collateral such as new product sell sheets and sell in presentations
  • Coach and develop the NPD/ Innovation Assistant, who will also:
    • Manage project status updates on the Master New Product Development spreadsheet
    • Create and maintain detailed spec sheets for each SKU in development
  • Present status updates to senior management on a quarterly basis, with smaller monthly updates

Experience Required:

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree, Marketing preferred
  • Minimum 5-8 years relevant experience in new product development, consumer marketing, and project management, ideally in the OTC and/or personal care space
  • Ability to see areas of opportunity based on consumer trends and need gaps
  • Creative, problem-solving mindset, with the ability to translate quantitative learnings into product recommendations
  • Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through skills
  • Keen attention to detail, organized, with the ability to prioritize and execute against deadlines
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership
