Business Unit and Position Summary: Crane ChemPharma & Energy, a division of Crane Co., designs, manufacturers, packages and markets, engineered flow control solutions for specific niche applications in the Chemical, Power and Hydrocarbon processing industries. Reporting to the CPE Marketing Director, the Marketing Manager is responsible for the success of strategic and operational objectives. The Marketing Manager will develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plans including competitor analysis, analysis of market opportunities and threats by Verticals, assessment of the Company’s strengths and weaknesses and competitive positioning. The key objective is to identify market and sales opportunities to profitably grow Company revenues. The Manager will develop and support core and complimentary products marketing initiatives to ensure effective development and execution of annual plans/objectives in each of the brands for specified markets. Initially this role will focus on the Process Control and Monitoring Market Segment which includes valve control, automation, and control accessories used in all end markets (Chemical, Power, and Hydrocarbon). This position is to support and sustain the growth of the ChemPharma & Energy business through understanding of the local markets and verticals where we operate and have an interest to invest, inclusive of the competitive landscape, channels to market, attractive industry segments and strategic product positioning. www.craneco.com |
Principle Duties:

Support the development of Marketing’s best practices to develop effective value propositions and sales tools that are practical to use and aligned to segmentation and regional specific requirements; ensure full alignment with the Sales organization.

Support the VPGMs in to define strategies for maximum growth capacity with new markets, technologies and business models.

Proactively interact cross functionally with Sales, Marketing Communications, IT, Finance, and other functions to communicate routinely on key strategies, growth initiatives, and tools.

Routinely contribute to and support the development of strategic planning initiatives including STRAT PLAN and Operating Plan, High Growth Region expansions, M&A due diligence and other new growth initiatives.

Identify through strategy development the areas of high potential top line and operating income growth

Routinely leading or engagement in Crane CPE SD initiatives initiated to drive profitable growth or productivity.

Evaluate customer and distributor surveys to maintain a pulse on the served market’s perception of our performance relative to price, quality and lead time.

Evaluate market research to define our current state position with regards to our products, quality, customer service, etc. and identify areas for improvement.

Support CPE new product initiatives
Communication Role
-
Provide input to the Marcom Manager on the appropriate marketing communications program for the product line including literature, demos, training, advertising, trades shows, etc, to drive consistent above market level brand growth and profitability

Be seen as a visible, vocal leader helping to define and communicate the company’s overall strategy.

Actively communicate product commercial issues to ensure that the company remains competitive
and meets customer needs.
Business Model Impact and Growth Strategy

Provide input on the key process applications for the targeted business in detail in order to identify new opportunities where our products can be utilized in the current application as well as, new applications that are being developed.

Identify opportunities for a wider package solution of all of the products to the targeted segment.

Price/Quality/Delivery Targets

Responsible for the attainment of the product goals by cost, quality and delivery.

Establishes the minimum product features and benefits that meet relevant industry standards.

Understands the product architecture and application guidelines.

Execute product cost strategy in conjunction with operations.

Assists the Operations teams with technical and commercial information requests.

Will provide input into the New Product Development programs to assure successful launch.

Work with Sales and Engineering to define product release requirements, marketing strategy, product
positioning, and target customers.

Target the global growth opportunities for the entire product line.

Will receive input from the demand review process to support the SIOP process.
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years engineering experience in a chemical, hydrocarbon, or power process applications
-
MBA, business or marketing
-
Product knowledge and/or industry experience
-
Highly organized and detail oriented
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build key relationships

Excellent presentation skills;

Strong problem solving and analytical skills;
