Position Responsibilities:

Seeking a Product Development Manager for toy and related products; own the product development process and managed the lifecycle from concept ideation to final production.

  • Manages the development of new products and programs, ensuring products meet cost, quality and customer requirements.
  • Manages the release and acceptance of product specifications and facilitates production samples.
  • Manages internal line review process.
  • Communicates with international vendors throughout the product development process, working directly with Hong Kong office and factories; travels internationally.
  • Stays abreast of timelines from concept to delivery; such as quoting deadlines and sample deliveries.  Delivers against product development schedules.
  • Conducts investigative research and development activities to support ideas including but not limited to market analysis, trend research, competitive research and materials research.
  • Ideates new product ideas and continuing product improvements within the established brand guidelines.
  • Assists with creating customer presentations.
  • Drives early identification of challenges/issues; assesses and evaluates potential alternatives and develops appropriate recommendations for resolution.
  • Evaluates completed projects and recommends improvement/modifications that need to be implemented.
  • Supports profitable revenue growth through continuous improvement.
  • Is aware of competitive trends and products in the marketplace and is able to analyze and react based on a competitive perspective.
  • Provides direction to freelance designers.

Experience Required:
  • 5+ years’ related product development and lifecycle management experience
  • Consumer goods experience required; toy industry preferred
  • Strong business acumen as it related to the Product Development life cycle
  • Diverse understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demands
  • Must have above average organizational skills along with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Must conduct business with the highest standard of ethics
  • Must be able to travel internationally a minimum of 3x/year – international travel REQUIRED.
