Position Responsibilities:
The overall goal of the Purchasing Manager is to achieve the best total cost position for all external spend of the respective plant, the lowest sourcing risks, and the best supplier performances for the plant and procurement team. The Purchasing Manager develops and leads the plant procurement team and store room department. The Purchasing Manager position includes both creation of strategic vision, and tactical management including execution of the following essential functions, examples include but are not limited to: 
  • Responsible for the Plant Procurement Operations function
  • Leads Strategic Buyers and Procurement Operations Specialists
  • Leads the category strategies for all indirect materials and services for the location
  • Works in close conjunction and alignment with the Capital procurement team
  • Owns savings targets on Plant-specific spends
    • i.e. Performance areas: Cost Savings Supplier performance, challenging of material & service specifications (demand management), procurement organizational efficiency
  • Monitors and controls plant procurement target achievement and initiates counter measures if necessary
  • Communicates supplier issues to BU Procurement Director 
  • Participates in supplier meetings directly for negotiations and supplier management

Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Economics, or Engineering from an accredited Institution

5 years of experience in purchasing management

  • Proven leadership in purchasing management
  • Professional certifications Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is preferred
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of Hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
