Position Responsibilities:

▪ Develop a North American activity plan to achieve revenue targets through agency and partner sales
▪ Identify and target a pipeline of key accounts to drive future revenue growth
▪ Manage the relationships with key national accounts at a senior level, monitoring commercial terms and performance against plan
▪ Establish and implement short-range and long-range national and regional goals, objectives, policies and procedures
▪ Supervise, direct and motivate the Regional Sales Director team
▪ Oversee the integrity of the company’s CRM system to measure growth, manage contacts and build robust and segmented digital campaigns with travel agents.
▪ Direct and manage trade media advertising across the full range of media channels, including the management of any 3rd party agencies
▪ Working with the UK creative team, define, develop and evolve the full suite of US sales collateral
▪ Manage the trade show calendar and represent the company at national sales events and business meetings as required

 

Skills and Abilities 

▪ Excellent understanding of the US travel agency sector
▪ Strong sales process and deployment strategies
▪ Strong leadership skills in successfully driving people and processes
▪ Excellent customer service aptitude
▪ Proven track record in reaching sales targets
▪ Has executed tactical sales and marketing plans
▪ Ability to use sales and marketing tools in a B2B and B2C capacity to drive sales
▪ Understanding of social media channels and how to maximize potential
▪ Ability to maintain brand and sales messaging consistently across all channels
▪ Understanding of travel trade media outlets
▪ Strong relationship management with travel agents, travel agencies and consortia

Experience Required:

▪ At least 10 years sales experience selling premium products or services for river/ocean cruise lines or tour operators
▪ A self-starter with the ability to hit the ground running
▪ Understands global retail leisure outbound distribution strategies (North American market traveling outbound through travel agencies)
▪ Extensive European destination knowledge preferred.
▪ Background in river or ocean cruising sales
▪ Existing sales relationships and a demonstrated track record of sales success required within a sales territory within the travel industry
