▪ Recommend and develop policies, procedures and systems to meet company objectives
▪ Provide strategic financial leadership and support on the evaluation of potential alliances, investments and/or other issues affecting the business
▪ Align financial policies and procedures with company objectives
▪ Oversee the issuance of financial information and report financial results and risks to the CEO
▪ Oversee the Company’s transaction processing systems
▪ Build, develop and manage the finance and accounting team and the fleet logistics team, capable of carrying out needed initiatives
▪ Be viewed as approachable and as a mentor on financial issues
▪ Oversee the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of department staff throughout all company locations
▪ Ensure timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team
▪ Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
▪ Participate in key decisions as a member of the leadership team
▪ Understand and mitigate key elements of the Company’s risk profile
▪ Establish financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements and to meet customer needs
▪ Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
▪ Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
▪ Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
▪ Monitor cash balances
▪ Arrange for debt and equity financing
▪ Weigh in on employee benefit plans, with emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
▪ Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance and accounting functions
▪ Ensure the Company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
▪ Participate in conference calls with the investment community
▪ Maintain banking, CPA, and legal relationships
▪ Represent the Company with investment bankers and investors
▪ Network in prominent business circles to promote business
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field
▪ Minimum 10 years’ experience managing an accounting function in a small - medium size company
▪ Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in Finance or Accounting
▪ Must be both an independent thinker and a team player
▪ Excellent communication (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and interpersonal skills
▪ Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
▪ Strong analytical, conceptualization, interpretation, and critical thinking skills
▪ Must be detail-oriented
▪ Self-motivated with a sense of urgency, and readily acclimates to an ever-changing environment
