Position Responsibilities:

The Senior VP of Global Sales has the primary role of leading the global sales teams (based in the US, UK, Europe, and Australia), overseeing the team's activities, and monitoring performance as a whole. Communicate the business's KPIs and targets to sales personnel, analyze consumer and market behavior patterns, and work closely with the new product development team to ensure that product is designed correctly for customers.

Leadership

  • Provide leadership of the global sales team. The Senior Vice President- Global Sales will be responsible for developing weekly/monthly/annual, and seasonal sales targets for the department, examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, product mix development, and taking responsibility for the department's performance against targets.
  • Manage the departmental calendar regarding trading priorities, including launches, promotions, exclusives, and campaign activities to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Establish and oversee the adoption of departmental vision and values, which forms part of the work culture. They will mentor key positions within the sales department, assisting in executing duties upon request and honing their professional skills.
  • Own, update and validate the sales forecasts globally; own, monitor, and update the annual sales expense budget/forecast

Strategy

  • Play a key strategic role in the business. Implement sales strategies that further the business's agenda and drive enhanced revenue generation. 
  • Deliver an optimized market mix relative to the different retail customers and identify the roadmap to achieve the business's goals.
  • Work closely with the Demand Planning Manager to achieve optimal inventory levels and ultimately improve customer service/satisfaction level
  • Along with the sales management team, create and implement sales action plans that incorporate key actions to set KPIs for the business and implement pricing to maintain gross margin and grow share

Knowledge/Relationships/Opportunity:

  • Build strong relationships with our external partners, including customers, licensors, and the Board investors, and regularly interact with them. These efforts establish the business as a market and thought leader and open avenues for identifying potential opportunities for sales and revenue generation.
  • Conduct regular and consistent research on the latest market best practices and trends to constantly keep the business ahead of other players and drive greater sales resulting in greater market share.

Experience Required:
  • Minimum 10 years of sales experience, with 5 years of sales management experience working with mass retailers within a fast-paced and growing business environment
  •  Experience working with a growing business that has has annual sales of at least $100 million.
  • Has worked in a consumer products business that produces the product in Asia and experienced managing pricing & margins through range planning with customers to drive top-line and bottom-line growth
  • A proven and successful ability to lead a group of international sales personnel toward growth in enhanced sales volumes and revenue generation while displaying exceptional leadership skills and confidence and leading by example.   Experience in managing online sales teams is highly desirable
  • The candidate's experience must center around consumer products and will have worked with the largest US retailers – preferably having existing relationships with buyers and/or senior managers
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills that enable effective communication between the UK office, HK office, and the various external partners
  • High proficiency in presentations and PowerPoint (i.e., creating engaging reports and presentations for the sales teams, external partners, company meetings, and the Board)
  • Has a keen interest in conducting research and data-driven insights coupled with strategic planning & analytical capabilities
  • Will develop an in-depth knowledge of the business's product as well as standard strategic, analytical, and marketing concepts and can develop individual sales account strategies (i.e., by customer department, license mix, product range, and margin strategies)
  • Have a deep understanding of the business's marketplace models and applicable opportunities and limitations.
  • Willing to travel, both domestically and internationally, as needed to oversee sales organization, build customer relationships, attend meetings and trade shows and maintain market awareness
