Position Responsibilities:

Manage media investment process to provide full financial transparency and adequate flexibility. Maintain full involvement in company portfolio business strategy and objectives by participating in strategy sessions with the agencies and brand teams. Partner with Marketing Research and Analytics to identify insights and learning’s applicable to media planning. Maintain up to date knowledge of changing developments and technologies in the media landscape including consumer media consumption and apply that knowledge to optimize brand media plans and buys.   

Role Specific Responsibilities 

  • Liaise with the company's Global Media team to help strengthen media capability and integrate relevant and practical processes at the local level
  • Build strong relationships with key local stakeholders within Finance and Procurement
  • Work with Marketing Research and Business Analytics to identify and apply actionable insights to media planning
  • Work with Brand teams to build informative and directive media briefs for media agency
  • Work with media agency to incorporate marketing objectives and strategies into media deliverables
  • Work with media agency to review and approve media planning costs
  • Drive media plan development and approval process
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of media landscape including media consumption by media channel and latest media trends and innovation
  • Work with media agency to develop, track and report media plan KPI’s
  • Monitor performance of the media agencies formally and informally with quarterly posts, annual audits and regular feedback from business leaders
  • Work with procurement to provide regular performance assessments and to document any issues that need to be corrected
  • Develop relationships with key media vendors to fully understand their offerings and keep the company top of mind for new editorial, sponsorship or technological opportunistic buys

Experience Required:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college required, MBA preferred 

Experience:  Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in media agency or client side media planning and buying required.  Experience with global media organizational structure preferred 

Professional Skills:  Expert knowledge of the overall media landscape including all forms of digital communications space.  Deep knowledge of the consumer media space and a desire to continue to grow in that area

Role Specific Competencies:   This position requires extensive use of computer equipment.  Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business software to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.  Familiarity with Nielsen or IRI programs is preferred
